Whats the best way to backpack around europe?
Generally i found it is split into two ways to travel: 1) where you go with a tour group (i went with contiki) and they pay for just about everything and you dont have to worry about anything other than catching the bus when it leaves! You WILL do a lot more drinking/partying and see very touristy areas but also you will do larger events like organised white water rafting/temple visits etc… 2) get an interrail ticket, and either sleep on train between countries or find somewhere when you arrive…there will always! be accommodation available although this way you may spend more money but have a huge amount of freedom (e.g. I fancied staying on a greek island for a week instead of continuing travelling). So it really is depending on how much freedom you want….
