A. The best time of the year to buy a car is when it makes practical and financial sense for you, the consumer, to do so. I’ve heard the argument that buying a car at the end of a calendar year, when some dealers are eager to reach yearly sales targets, could save consumers money. In some cases that may be true, but I wouldn’t want to generalize for all dealers. Consumers who do their homework and know what type of vehicle they want are most likely to get the best deals, no matter what time of year.
