Whats the best time of day to take the ovulation tests?

I bought 2 different ovulation test and the paper inserts gave two different answers. I asked my fertility doctor and he gave me a 3rd answer! The consistent answer I got was that it should be at the same time each day, so that you give yourself the maximum time to take advantage of a “positive” result. The doctor said at 4:00 pm so if I had to pick one I’d probably pick that one.
