Whats the best thing about being a high school football player?
The atmosphere of playing high school football, especially at Freeport. Everybody is a big football fan. When you get a chance to score, it’s a great feeling. Everybody goes wild. In the 1980s, Freeport had a great rivalry with Jeannette. Who is Freeport’s biggest rival now? That’s Ford City. That’s our biggest rivalry. We were looking forward to that game the whole season (Freeport edged Ford City, 6-0, on Oct. 9 and ended a six-game losing streak to the Sabers). We came out with fire. We were anxious to beat them. It was a good win for us. What’s the key to a good kick return? Just to see how your blocks are set up. I give all the credit in the world to my lineman and everybody else. They set up the blocks for me. I take my cuts, put my head down and go. What is something about yourself that most people don’t know? I like hunting and fishing. I go deer hunting every year. In eighth grade, I got a nice 10-point. That was the only buck I ever shot. It’s pretty special. I got it mounted
