Whats the best red wine available for under $15?
We have found that Yellowtail (an Australian vineyard) wines are very reasonably priced and quite good. Soft and smooth. Their Shiraz, Merlot, and blended Shiraz/Cabernet go very well with cheeses and Italian (i.e., tomato-based) food. Couldn’t say how they go with beef since I don’t eat meat. I’m guessing you’d probably want their drier cabernet for beef. But their regular size bottles are under $10 and their larger bottles are under $15 (at least in my state … price is dependent on your state’s taxation of alcohol). For whites, their chardonnay and pinot grigio are pretty good too. http://www.yellowtailwineusa.
