Whats the best printer for home which we rarely print?
You’re right about avoiding inkjets if you print rarely. If you dont need color you can get a black laser in the $50 range. I have a Brother HL2040 going on 3-4 years now still going strong. If you need color look at the Samsung CLP-300. There are 5 of these in my extended family. We paid under $100 each new delivered. The last one we got off ebay for $96. We bought an extra set of 4 toner cartridges for $50 from http://www.ccs-digital.com and just replaced the first black on the oldest and most used printer after a year, so they do last for the 2,000 pages Samsung claims. The print is sharp and fast.
