Whats the best petrol additive to reduce petrol consumption?
The short answer is that there is no quick fix additive that will improve fuel consumption. That said older cars will benefit from the addition of for example redex as this additive will “Clean Up” the fuel system allowing for better fuel combustion. There are other products out there called octane boosters, that will increase the octane value from say 92 to 99. However if you have an older car the difference is very little. Unfortunately the only things that really work are 1) Inflating your tires to the correct pressure 2) Driving smoothly and braking gently 3) Removing all un-necessary heavy items from the boot 4) Making sure the car is serviced properly.
