Whats the best motorcycle for a learner in NSW, Australia?
I would choose the Honda Shadow. They are cruiser-style bikes that have a low seat height, low center of gravity, and they’re easy to ride. Granted, the Honda Rebel is widely used for rider safety courses here in the States, but the engine size is too small for anything more than passing your local moped/scooter rider. I’ve driven in Sydney before, and you’ll need power when you’re trying to merge into those roundabouts. When visiting the dealership, ask about older models first. If they’ve got one from a previous model year that they haven’t sold yet, that one will get you the best bike for your money. I’d recommend getting a used bike as your first one, so you can be sure that you really want to do this without losing a big chunk of your investment. Keep your knees in the wind!
