Whats the best method for killing my existing lawn in order to renovate?
The most efficient and cost-effective method is use of a non-selective herbicide with glyphosate, such as Roundup or Razor. By spraying all the vegetation in your lawn, you get the benefit of starting from scratch. An added benefit of spraying with one of these products is that there is no chance of the herbicide running off site; once glyphosate hits bare soil, it become inactive.
