Whats the best mercenary for my sorceress?
Normally, for most sorceresses, the best mercenary is an Act 2 Defensive Soldier, with the Aura Holy Freeze. He attracts most of the monsters, and also slows them down considerably, allowing you to attack them more times before they come into close proximity with you. The other Aura an Act 2 Defensive Soldier may have, Defiance, increases the defence rating of you and your mercenary. While not as useful as Holy Freeze, Defiance can keep your mercenary alive indefinitely from non-magical attacks.The other option for a mercenary is a barbarian. He is a little more offensive then the Act 2 defensive merc, and can chop through quite a few monsters. He also lives a fairly long time, as is a good choice, though he gives no bonuses to you or party members.If you are a melee sorceress or have limited long-range capabilities, then you might want to use the Rogue (Act 1) Mercenary. They have a good ranged attack, though are quite weak when swarmed.
