Whats the best downhill mountain bike tyres?
This is an unanswerable question – though you may well find you get hundreds of contradictory answers, depending on how many downhillers use Yahoo Answers. That’s because, as is the case with most bike parts, different riders prefer different things and personal likes, dislikes and brand loyalty play as much of a part as the actual performance and price of the products in question. I could tell you the type and size of tyres I use, but if you then went out and bought the same tyres on my recommendation you’d in all probability find you hated them. The only remedy is to try out various different makes and models until you settle on the one that works best for you. This has two drawbacks, of course: the first is that buying all those tyres soon becomes expensive, and the second is that the moment you find Tyre Nirvana with a tyre that ticks all the right boxes for you, that tyre will immediately be discontinued and all stock will vanish from every bikeshop in the world. It’s one of the U
