Whats the best bit of Italian Christmas food?
SARAH BLACK, Doncaster This is a really personal question. Because in Italy, everything changes from region to region – even from village to village and family to family. I always adored the roast rabbit and roast goose that my grandmother used to make. The skin on the goose was always just wonderful. But my real favourite thing at Christmas was when I was allowed to have anchovies. All year round, you could buy anchovies fresh, and then marinate them and cook them, and they were amazing. But at Christmas, my dad or grandad would buy anchovies with chillis that were a very special make, from Parma. It is a secret recipe, and they used to come in a container with three garden gnomes on the packet, which was lovely.
