Live bait is always the best for trout be it worms maggots or shrimps fly fishing can be very effective also.As for the best place to find them well they love cover be it an overhanging tree or a large boulder to hide behind. Also they will gather at waterfalls and the tails of rapids to gather any food that gets washed down.

It depends alot on weather or not they are hatchery fish.If they are You just cant beat Powerbait fished 1-3 feet off the bottom. If they are native fish they tend to eat whatever types of bugs you find in your area at the time youre fishing.I like to get a cast-a-bubble which is a clear bobber you can fill with some water to add weight, and put on about 3 feet of leader and tie a fly to the end and just cast out and reel in very slowly,I catch alot of fish this way,I just keep trying different flies until I find one that works.Trout tend to hang out near dropoffs so if you can find one cast just beyond iy no matter what you are using and you will get fish. They also tend to go into the deepest part of the lake or pond when the weather is very hot.Early morning and around dusk you can catch them just a few feet off the bank.If youre fishing in a small pond I would reccomend a sliding 1/8-1/4 ounce sinker,a swivel to keep the weight from sliding toward the hook, and start out with maybe 18

Trout fishing is my favourite type of fishing, especially in lakes or rivers. If you ask me in the shallow parts I would use a spinner (panther martin spinner no bigger than a size 4 and) yellow is usually the best color I have found to work. Although depending on the time of day you need to decide whether you would like one that consist of darker shades or litter shads as trout tend to strike more in the evening with darker shades. Also a key thing is you need some sun light for spinners to work. (Not a lot) In deeper waters it is best to set up slip shot. With a hook if you’re going to use night crawlers. Or what also works well is use a treble hook a small one take some power bate (yellow) and with the palm of your hands roll it up like a warm around the treble hook. Drop it in the water for 2 minutes as this hardens your power bate so it dos not come off. Then cast, and very very slowly with the currant of the water real in. stop for about 10 to 50 seconds her and there. Play with
