Metronidazole is the best AntiBiotic for tooth infections. It is marketed in the trade names Flegyl, Flagyl or Nidagyl. You need to take 375mg or 400mg twice a day course for minimum 5 days. Daily maximum dose should not exceed 800mg. Avoid taking Alcohol during this period. You should not take Metronidazole if you are pregnant. Constipation is a very rare side effect of Metronidazole but you can avoid that by taking more water and fruits.
