Whats the best advice you can give to people wanting a career in Human Resources?

My own route into HR came by chance and a lot of hard work. If I was contemplating a career in HR I would either study for a professional qualification that has a HR module (such as Business Studies) and then press for a work placement; or I would focus on securing a work experience placement and start building relationships from there.
