Whats the best 35mm SLR camera?
You can get a very good 35mm SLR camera for very little money these days, for a little more money you can get an EXCELLENT 35mm SLR camera. The market has dropped so much there is little excuse for not buying a once top end model. I use canon, a canon EOS 3 can be had for £150 from a used dealer with a guarantee. This camera will leave you wanting for absolutely nothing. Its tough, weather sealed, has a studio flash socket, spot metering, advanced Autofocus system, a massive range of shutter speeds and a briliant interface that you adapt to very quickly. The lenses that fit this camera will also work on canon digital bodies (so long as they are canon branded, most third party lenses should but it isnt guaranteed with some older lenses) You will get decent cameras like the EOS 30v for maybe a third to half of this price, good as they are, the EOS 3 is just different class. I bought the Olympus E520 a couple of months ago and I love it! It is comparable to the Canon Rebel xTI (or xSI – I can never remember) and the Nikon D40-D60. All three brands are very comparable in quality and price. None are super entry-level, and have just enough bells and whistles. Keep your eyes open for the best deals….I ultimately went with the Olympus because at the time, Bestbuy was offering a second $300 lens for free. So it ended up being the best bargain!
