Whats the average cost of a fatties food bill per week?
Not as much as you might think. on average healthy food costs 33% more than unhealthy food. Healthy food can be quite expensive, i.e. a bag of 6 apples could cost £1.98 (depending on the type) where as a bag of 6 crisps could cost 99p – the problem is, people then buy twice as much as it’s cheaper. I personally think they should raise the cost of unhealthy crap and reduce the healthy food with the saving, like a fat tax or something. We realised the other week when we were super skint (don’t ask why) that we could quite easily afford 5-7 days worth of unhealthy food whereas if we wanted to eat healthily we would have only had enough to buy 2/3 days worth (especially as fresh stuff only lasts a couple of days). We had no choice but to get the unhealthy food for that week and we felt terrible by payday – I couldn’t wait to eat something unprocessed!
