Whats the advantage of using digital library services over putting images on my course web pages?
In addition to being able to easily manage permissions for a variety of users, one of the biggest advantages of digital library services over course web pages is the ability to display media collections in a variety of ways (thumbnail images only, study guides, slide shows, etc.) without any additional work on your part. The benefit of using this system is not likely to be realized with only a hand full of media files. There is no magic number, but as a rule of thumb any instructor who is using more than 20-25 media files in a course should consider using this system.
