CAN/ULC-S524 Section 3.4.4 states: “The voltage drop and power dissipation on any circuit shall not prevent the proper operation of that circuit and shall be in accordance with the manufacturer’s installation instructions.” This can vary significantly between manufacturer, panel models, and modules. That’s why it’s really important for you to be able to reference the installation manual for the panel you’re testing. You’ll also be able to determine if the correct gauge of wire has been used for the estimated length of the run.
