However, every now and then, my chainsaws are knocked out of commission and I have to rely on using a manual saw. I have several bow saws in my tool shed. The saws are called bow saws simply because the handle is in the shape of a bow. This saw is made of cheap tubular steel and it has a hardened steel saw blade. The blade attaches to two hooks, one on either side of the bow handle. A tensioner clamp tightens the blade to make it taught.
