Whats Taking Place at Bolivar?
Two new lanes are being added west of the current two-lane roadway. These will carry southbound traffic. The existing two-lane roadway will carry northbound traffic. As a safety feature, a 60-foot-wide grassy median between the northbound and southbound lanes will be part of the new highway design. This design will bring Highway 13 in the Bolivar area up to four-lane freeway status. New interchanges are being constructed at Highway 13’s intersection with Route 32, Route T and Business 13/Route 83. They will be diamond interchanges, and will be the only places drivers can enter or exit Highway 13 between Highways 32 and 83. Outer roads will be built to help nearby residents and businesses access the interchanges with Highway 13. This project is scheduled to be completed in the fall of 2004.
