Whats So Special About Our Educational Toys?
Educational toys are toys that have two goals: fun play and development of the child’s skills. The purpose of the first goal seems quite obvious, kids like to play, therefore all toys, including educational toys, should offer kids fun, otherwise they will not want to play. The second reason is not as clear as the first one for everyone. Some people think that the sole purpose of toys is fun, and do not understand how words like “education” or “development” are connected to toys. The term “educational toys” might be confusing as well, since they see toys as a fun leisure time activity, while education is a strict and institutionalized one.
