Whats so special about a DSO?
A DSO samples the waveform at its input at very high speed – it essentially discretizes and quantizes the input signal. Once it has stored a whole series of samples, it is free to do whatever it pleases – such as graph them versus time, perform a discrete Fourier transform on them so you can see the spectrum of the signal, perform mathematical functions etc. Once you’ve used a DSO, you’ll never want to go back to a CRO.
