Whats so great about Pink Floyds Dark Side of the Moon?
Well, for starters, people who wear the T-Shirt may not even be fans of the band. The rainbow-shaped pyramid emblazoned on a jet black background is pretty cool. (And, by the way, the pyramid is actually a flight runway). Musically, the album was ahead of its time. Although, for the band, it was the culmination of years of electronic-psychedelic rock. The lads perfected (nailed) it with the immense help of producer Alan Parsons. And, for the factual minded, “Dark SIde of the Moon” was on the top 200 charts for a record 760 consecutive weeks! It is estimated that 1 of every 14 American households of 45-somethings own a copy. Yup — Pink Floyd was not only a rock / techno pioneer, few bands have duplicated their musicianship.
