SEMS is the Manchester Metropolitan University Student E-Mail System. It it a web based mail system, comparable to Hotmail and Yahoo! Mail. It is also possible to send and receive SEMS mail using a third party e-mail client, such as Outlook Express, Netscape Messenger, Eudora etc. SEMS is the way that the University communicates via e-mail to it’s students. It’s our policy to send only official messages from us to you via SEMS. This is because we can ensure all messages are authentic and go to their intended recipients. If we had a bunch of Hotmail or Yahoo! e-mail addresses for students, then how do we know it’s really you? If you prefer to continue using your third party e-mail account, you can do that, simply set up a forward to that account from SEMS. The How TO guides will show you how!
