Whats preventing HIV prevention?
More effective funding is needed for HIV treatment and prevention. Today in 2010, more than 35 million people around the world are living with HIV. And it is estimated that 2.5 million more become infected by the virus every year. If the number of new cases of HIV continues to rise at this rate, spending on HIV could increase from US $13 billion per year to US $35 billion by 2031. So we ask why are these resources not being used more efficiently to prevent more people becoming infected with HIV.
