What’s Organic About a Bourbon Sidecar? Wednesday February 4, 2009 I picked up the latest issue of Imbibe Magazine — the full color veneration of all things liquid and spirited. It’s liquor enshrined in slick typography, like a Cohiba wrapped in Cigar Aficionado. Inside is what you might expect in the way of content: “Zen and the Art of Sake” and “The Secret Life of Speakeasies.” It was the latter that drew my attention, featuring as it did Bourbon and Branch here in San Francisco. The subhead “Inside the shady, civilized world of the modern speakeasy” sums up the temperament of the piece. It’s a good piece, particularly if you haven’t visited any of the establishments featured, like the trend-setting and exclusive Milk and Honey in New York.
