Belleville police are looking for a suspect in an armed robbery that happened at the Sally Beauty Supply, 5720 N. Belt West, at about 4:15 p.m. May 10. The suspect is described as a 20- to 30-year-old black male, six feet tall, with a dark complexion and a shaved head. He was last seen wearing a dark blue hooded sweatshirt, police said. The suspect waited until the store was empty before approaching the clerk at the counter with a handgun, and demanding the clerk open the register, according to police. When the clerk was unable to get the register open, the suspect ordered her to open the safe. The clerk fled through the back door while the suspect was still in front. The suspect was gone when the police arrived.
