Whats new with the latest plug-in (pre-installed with Adobe Photoshop CS4)?
You will find two primary enhancements in this latest Digimarc for Images release. The primary enhancement is the digital watermark is more robust to help ensure its survivability through common image transformations. In particular for the most common image file format — the JPEG file — we’ve seen significant improvement in robustness for even the most extreme compression ratios (approximately 20:1) when using the default watermark strength setting of 2 in the plug-in. In addition, this release has also improved robustness in watermarks after undergoing a combination of re-sizing to 75% and JPEG compression of approximately 10:1. For the best results, our guidance is still to always re-size your image before applying a digital watermark and test the readability of the watermark after saving to a compressed file format.
