Whats new in Vlingo 3.0 for corporate BlackBerry users and BES Administrators?
• We have great news for individuals and corporations who upgrade to Vlingo 3.0. For individual users Quick and simple: the bottom line is that if you were having trouble getting Vlingo 2.0 to run because of permission problems, there’s a good chance that 3.0 will work for you. Try it and see! In most cases, you no longer have to ask your IT department (BES Administrator) to make configuration changes to set Vlingo permissions to Allow. You still need to respond to a number of permissions prompts during the Vlingo setup process, but the good news is you can do this on your own. In some cases, your corporate BlackBerry will be explicitly configured to deny certain permissions to third party applications such as Vlingo. If you see error messages indicating that Vlingo needs additional permissions in order to run and you’re unable to set these permissions, you need to contact your BES Administrator.
