Whats New in the Resource Center for Advent?
One of the newest studies in the KERYGMA PROGRAM series is entitled The Light Will Shine – A Study for Advent (BK 8AA 222), leader and student guide. The Reverend Dr. Carol Miller has written this study about the four-week period prior to Christmas in which the church, rejoicing in Christ’s first coming, looks forward to Christ’s coming again. It is designed to provide fresh perspectives on the journey through Advent to Christmas and beyond, and to highlight the underlying message of the traditional scripture texts and themes for the season. The leader’s guide contains strategies for five sessions, including the four weeks of Advent and texts for Epiphany. Materials are set up for 1 hour- sessions, although they could be condensed into one-hour sessions. Barbara Dee Baumgarten has written Teach Us to Number Our Days (BK 5AX 153).
