Whats New for the 2005 Chevrolet Suburban?
Change is in the wind this year for the 2005 Chevrolet Suburban. The optional rear barn doors are gone, in favor of a rear tailgate with separate liftglass. Half-ton (1500) models now get a 160-amp alternator and a 3.42 axle ratio standard, while the three-quarter-ton (2500) models retain the 140-amp alternator and 3.73 gears. The Z71 off-road package is available on the 1500 model with 2WD and enhancements have been made to the tire pressure monitoring and navigation systems. The transmission oil cooler is now only available with the trailer tow package (1500) and standard on 2500 models, and if you opt for the 8.1-liter V8 an engine oil cooler is added as well. Two new colors round out the changes to the 2005 Chevrolet Suburban: Sandstone and Bermuda Blue.
