Whats New for the 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche?
After denuding the heavily-cladded Chevrolet Avalanche last year, General Motors makes less obvious changes to its pickup/SUV crossover vehicle for 2004. Horsepower and torque are both down slightly, to 320 and 445 respectively. Also dropped for 2004 is the North Face Edition, and the glovebox no longer comes with a light. Hydroboost brakes, which decrease pedal effort and will operate with power assist even if the engine stalls, are added to Chevrolet Avalanche 1500 models this year (the 2500 got Hydroboost last year). Also new is the availability of StabiliTrak stability control when the Premium On-road Suspension package is ordered, and a new dealer-installed aluminum brush guard.
