Whats new at the Superdome and the New Orleans Arena?
On September 7, 2008, the New Orleans Saints began their regular season in the Superdome when they defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The season is sold-out with a waiting list for tickets, including suites. New Orleans was the first city to host three major college post-season football games for the 2007-2008 season. The R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl, The Allstate Sugar Bowl Football Classic and the Allstate BCS National Championship Game were all played in the Louisiana Superdome. This year New Orleans will once again host The R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl on December 21, 2008, and the Allstate Sugar Bowl Football Classic on January 2, 2009. New windows are just one of the latest features of the more than $200 million facelift for the Louisiana Superdome. The Dome’s four completely redecorated Club Lounges will also soon be accessible via two private escalators from the outside concourse. The final phase of the upgrades will be a shiny new anodized aluminum outer surface. The Superdome is also home to the New Orleans Saints.
