by Jackie Mardikian, Medical Librarian, Rutgers University In case you have not yet used the new IRIS, an integrated web-based public access online catalog at Rutgers University, you can access it directly by typing http://www.iris.rutgers.edu/iris.html IRIS is more that a catalog of library holdings. Try selecting the SELF SERVICES feature on IRIS, and with the use of your library PIN number you can display YOUR LIBRARY RECORD. If you do not know your 4 digit library personal identification number, visit the circulation desk at the Library of Science and Medicine (LSM) to obtain your PIN number. The self services feature allows you to view your Checkouts, Request/Library Messages, and Holds. The RENEW YOUR CHECKOUTS option allows you to renew materials you have checked out. To use the Rutgers Request Service for books from other Rutgers libraries, and recall of books checked out, click on the “Request this Item” icon while viewing a single record display in the RU request form.
