Whats JS Bachs most beautiful composition?
I play a lot of Bach’s organ-music, and I wouldn’t know where to start in answering your question. Two composers were writing great music at the same time: Bach and Handel. Handel wrote gorgeous tunes and great oratorios, but Bach wrote absolute masterpieces in almost all contemporary genres. I suspect that Bach greatest and possibly most beautiful work is the St.Matthew Passion. It is certainly one of the deepest and most moving, and that would have to be my choice.
