Whats it like writing for HBO?
JILL: For Six Feet Under, each writer produces their own episodes because Alan Ball is the coolest boss in the world. He lets us cast our own episodes, or at least be a part of the casting. We’re on the set and have a chair next to the director and get to say things like “I don’t think they really got that take, can you do another take?” We get to take a pass on the cut after the director. RTN: We spoke with Jeremy Weiss, who is a photographer. He said he doesn’t even worry about the “selling” side of things, he just does what makes him happy – kind of like what you’ve said. JILL: Yeah same thing. With Six Feet Under I try to write scenes that ring true, that people can watch and say, “Yeah, that’s the way I feel.” You know, that represents honesty. When you say “He’s funny” and you laugh, then you feel more alive for that moment. You shared a moment.
