The entrance “exam” isn’t an exam, it’s a selection test to see which of the candidates are most suited to the pursuit of an academic curriculum with high expectations. Verbal reasoning tests are a method of measuring your intelligence (usually called your I.Q.) and come in two forms; verbal and non-verbal. Verbal tests consist of a series of questions, usually 100 or thereabouts, arranged in ets of differing types, to which you have to provide written answers. Very often these tests are multiple choice. You choses the right answer of four. Non verbal tests do not involve written answers. They consist of sections of questions, again with muliple choice answers, in which you have to demonstrate your powers of logical thought by solving puzzles using shapes and diagrams. If you want to practice these types of test you can buy books of them from places like WHSmith’s. The books have titles such as “Verbal Reasoning Tests,” “More Verbal Reasoning Tests,” etc. Then there is “Non-Verbal reas
