Whats it like over there in Akron, OH right now?
Mike: Uh, it’s hot, but it’s been raining for the past couple days. The weather’s trying to break. I think I heard that Akron has more rainy/cloudy days per year than Seattle. Does all this Akron rain have anything to do with the darker themes in your music, or at least keep you inside to play more music? Tom: No, I don’t think there’s really anything in that. It’s actually really nice here. We were going to do this interview outside. We had a spot picked out, but it’s raining. It would be appropriate for a band named after trees to do this outside. Tom: Yeah. Zack: Jeff just bought a huge 12-person tent and we’re probably going to take that along with us [on tour]. I think in the summer months, we’re definitely going to camp more. We’re really outdoorsy. We like nature a lot. Tom: There’s a place around here called Nelson’s Ledges that has a lot of Grateful Dead tribute bands – Sublime, Phish.
