Whats it like being a Financial Analyst? Is it difficult to find work?

I am a financial analyst and didn’t have trouble finding a job b/c I got an internship while still in school and then after graduation worked full time at the same company. The work is pretty independent, but you will have to meet with co-workers/managers who will tell you what kind of information they are looking for, and then you will go figure it out. It requires high-level knowledge of Excel, plus being able to learn accounting systems well. There are standard reports that you will do every week/month/quarter, plus ad hoc requests that people will contact you for. Your best bet in finding a job is to look for postings at large local companies. Publicly traded companies usually have more analysts since they are needed to assist with gathering data for external reporting. However, you say that you like making money decisions – this is not what a financial analyst does. An analyst tracks data. Someone who makes money decisions for other people would be a financial planner. This career
