Whats it like at the movies for Deaf people?
Many Deaf people don’t go to the movies because movies are not generally accessible to Deaf audiences. Captioning movies is a relatively simple and inexpensive process, but Hollywood does a poor job of providing captioned movies. In Bakersfield there is maybe one movie per month–if that–available in open-captioned format, showing at limited times during the week.
