Whats involved with Sponsorship?
To consider sponsorship, e mployers generally require a commitment to their company from you for at least 24 months. You are no longer able to transfer sponsorship from one employer to another however if you chose to leave your employer (or visa versa) you will be entitled to 28 days to secure alternative sponsorship. You application for sponsorship will be made through your potential employer or can be made by you directly through a ‘third party’ specialist company. Generally the sponsorship granted is for a 457 Visa – a four (4) year Temporary Working Visa. During this period you may be eligible to apply for Australian permanent residency. The Recruitment Consulting Company here may sponsor your application, or you may be eligible for an independent visa. If sponsored by a company, t he 457 visa will cost the employer between $3,000 – $5,000, depending upon the complexity of the application.
