Whats involved with installing the XV Level II suspension system?
The XV Level II suspension requires some welding as it is not a direct bolt on system. On the front end, additional holes need to be drilled in the front frame rails to mount the aluminum K-Member. Sleeves are inserted in these holes and welded into place to prevent any distortion of the frame rail when tightening the mounting hardware for the K-Member. A pre-welded bracket assembly must be welded to the frame rail inside the shock tower in the inner fender well. This bracket mounts the upper control arm and also acts as the upper mount for the coilover shock. Additionally, a machined insert must be tig-welded into the base of the steering column. A roller bearing gets inserted into this and is held into place by a retaining clip. The steering column shaft gets polished where it will be in contact with the roller bearing.
