The 2007-08 edition of the Colorado Avalanche is holding a family reunion. Memo to the Minnesota Wild: You’re no longer invited to the stroll down memory lane. Colorado management made it unequivocally clears prior to the season that the team was transitioning to a youth movement. The transition was expected to cause the Avalanche to miss the playoffs for only the second time in eleven years. Led by young guns Paul Stastny and Ben Guite, the Avalanche unexpectedly stayed in the playoff hunt as the trade deadline loomed.
