Whats in bloom at the JC Raulston Arboretum?
Spectacular this week in the East Arboretum along Beryl Road are the bright yellow flowers and the delicate seed pods of Senna corymbosa, plus the continuing flowering of the crape mytle collection. Berries are beginning to steal the show throughout the Arboretum, especially the bright lavendar berries of Callicarpa. The Finley-Nottingham Rose Garden remains bright and delightful as its first season after completely being renovated comes to a close. Don’t miss the large, waxy dark purple and white flowers of Datura ‘Cornucopea’ in the front row of the Annuals trial Area. In the Lath House look for the fall blooming Encore azaleas, particularily Rhododendron Autumn Royalty™. This list is not comprehensive of all plants currently flowering at the Arboretum.
