“Work, children, work, children, work, children – that’s how I am coping with it all,” he says of the bitter divorce from his wife, Pamela Bach, which was finalised in a Los Angeles court this week after seven months of full-throttle ding-dong and seething acrimony. At one stage, Bach insisted on a restraining order being put on her husband and claimed that he once broke her nose, while Hasselhoff retaliated by stating that the only man who ever broke his wife’s nose was her plastic surgeon. He thinks she is trying to damage him professionally, but does not think she will succeed. “It is really difficult because a man needs a wife,” he says. “The children need a mother and it is a very, very difficult thing. The only thing that keeps me going right now is the love of my children and work.
