Whats happening to the current permits that are due to expire in January?

All current permits will be reissued in January 2011 and payments will continue to be deducted for those that pay via salary. Permit applications will be open from November 2010. The full process will be publicised nearer the time. The new permit scheme will be introduced in September 2011. Further details will be announced nearer the time.
