Whats Happening in York Region?
York Region Tobacco Enforcement Officers are watching stores to see if tobacco is being sold to anyone under 19 years old. We also work with Health Canada to conduct the Youth Test Shopper Program. Youth Test Shoppers, under contract with Health Canada, enter stores and attempt to buy tobacco. If tobacco is sold or supplied to a person who is less than 19 years of age, a charge is laid.
