Whats happened with the other five students of the Jena Six?
A. They are going through pretrial motions. Their lawyers have filed motions to move the trial. Q. I understand there has been a civil lawsuit filed. Can you elaborate? A. Yes. The Barker family has filed a lawsuit against the families of the Jena Six. The civil suit is based upon Justin Barker’s injuries. I’m working with that case. It will probably go on at least another year. Q. Since the Jena Six case made national headlines, you have been speaking across the country. What has been your message? A. Usually, people want to know the lessons we have learned from Jena Six. They want guidance on what needs to be done to prevent future Jena Sixes. They also want to know how my experiences in dealing with the justice system can be applied to their local civil rights battles.
