Whats Googles strategy behind OpenSocial and whats the future of OS?

This was selected as Best Answer The strategy behind Open Social is to eliminate the barriers between social networking sites to create a global network of users. Now you can use your favorite social networking interface (Linkedin, Facebook, MySpace, etc) and still connect with users in other networking groups. Also, Open Social creates a unifed framework for the development of widgets and other data push-pull resources. This allows for the various sites to easily exchange information and resources. The Operating System (OS) will become more trim and compact as the PC era fades and we start adopting internet appliances that connect us to our data and services stored online. That means OS’s will come to resemble Google’s Android (for cell phones) by providing a simple interface and background connection to the internet cloud.
